Auckland Harbour Bridge

The Auckland Harbour Bridge is an eight-lane motorway bridge over Waitematā Harbour in Auckland. It joins St Marys Bay on the Auckland city side with Northcote on the North Shore side. It is part of State Highway 1 and the Auckland Northern Motorway. It is the second-longest road bridge in New Zealand, and the longest in the North Island.

Auckland, based around 2 large harbours, is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. Mount Eden or Maungawhau, meaning mountain of the whau tree, is 196 metres high and the highest natural point in Auckland. Less than ten minutes south of the city centre, a climb up to the summit will show you panoramic 360-degree views over the city and harbour.  The Sky Tower has become an iconic landmark in Auckland's skyline due to its height and unique design.

Auckland

Auckland City and Sky Tower (328 metres) with Waitemata Harbour and Harbour Bridge in the background. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and the main entry point for overseas visitors. The city has grown up around a chain of extinct volcanoes which form a network of beautiful parks and reserves which, combined with the nearby sea, give the city a speial character.
