October 12, 2024

Kaya Grandi is the main street of downtown Kralendijk and one of the most lively areas. The street is known for its colorful buildings and quaint little stores. When there is a cruise ship moored at the shore, the main street is flooded with tourists. The colorful buildings and relaxed atmosphere gives tourists the feeling of the Caribbean world. The architecture of Kaya Grandi reflects the Dutch influence on the island, mixed with Caribbean elements.

Bonaire

February 05, 2022
Kralendijk is the capital city and main port of Bonaire, a Dutch island in the Caribbean Sea. Colorful architecture dots the shopping street of Kaya Grandi. The Bonaire Museum displays archaeological finds, shells and old photos. Off the coast is Bonaire National Marine Park, with a coral reef sheltering tropical fish. This stretches west to Klein Bonaire Island, where the sandy beaches provide a nesting ground for sea turtles.

Thanks so much Inez!
