Laboe

Laboe, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, is situated on the Baltic Sea coast, approximately 10 km northeast of Kiel. Laboe's best features are its waterfront, the short distance to the beautiful sailing area of the Danish South Sea, and its proximity to one of the busiest shipping routes in the world. The long sandy beach stretches from the harbor to the Naval Memorial, Laboe's landmark.

Sieseby

Sieseby is located directly on the Schlei and has a ferry dock with several berths and a slipway for launching small boats. In the summer months, the public Schlei boat service calls at the dock. Sieseby is particularly well-known for its numerous restored thatched-roof houses. Since 2000, the town has been the first area monument in Schleswig-Holstein to be listed as a historical monument.

Friedrichstadt

Friedrichstadt is a town in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein. It is situated on the river Eider approx. 12 km south of Husum. The town was founded in 1621 by Dutch settlers. The buildings of the Dutch brick Renaissance and canals shape the cityscape of the 'Dutch town' with almost 2,700 inhabitants, which now lives primarily from tourism. In total, the city has 18 bridges over the rivers and canals.

Helgoland

Helgoland is a small German archipelago in the North Sea. It's a somewhat popular destination for one-day ship cruises. A feature of the island is almost total absence of car traffic, which makes it a safe and quiet location, and a hotspot for birdwatching. The island is famous for its Lange Anna spire, cliffs of red rock, sandy beaches and wildlife.

Lübeck

Lübeck, the Queen of all the Hanseatic cities, was founded in 1143 as 'the first western city on the Baltic coast'. A Medieval ambiance and historical and cultural attractions still dominate the wonderful cityscape today and hark back to the city's glorious past as a Free and Hanseatic city. Surrounded by water, the Old Town with its seven towers and five main churches is testament to 1,000 years of eventful history. As such, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its own right, as the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist buildings, narrow lanes and streets, churches and monasteries, merchants' houses and fortifications come together to form a remarkable whole.

Husumer Hafen

Husum is a maritime town in Schleswig-Holstein where colorful houses line the harbor. The Hafenstraße is the popular maritime promenade for strolling, shopping, eating and drinking. In the summer, the shopping street with its many historic houses becomes a car-free harbor promenade, which invites you to a relaxed harbor experience at low and high tide.

Husum

Husum is a maritime town in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, near Denmark. Colorful houses line the harbor, where the National Park House has exhibits on the tidal flats and salt marshes of Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. In spring, crocuses fill the grounds of Husum Castle. The North Sea Cycle Route passes through town. Offshore are the beaches of the North Frisian Islands, including Sylt.

Holstentor

The Holsten Gate is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. Built in 1464, the Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck's medieval city fortifications and one of two remaining city gates. Known for its two-round towers and arched entrance, it is regarded today as a symbol of the city. Together with the old city centre of Lübeck it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Timmendorfer Strand

Timmendorfer Strand is a coastal town on the Baltic Sea, in northern Germany. Its long beach is a hub for water sports, and the Sea Life aquarium is home to otters and sharks. Timmendorfer Platz is an area with cafes and restaurants. Vogelpark Niendorf bird sanctuary shelters owls and toucans. Nearby, trails circle vast Hemmelsdorfer Lake. The town of Niendorf is known for its pier, with bay views and a playground.
