Assumption Cathedral

April 05, 2019

Such a beautiful card from Russia! The Assumption Cathedral inside the Tula Kremlin. There was a description on the back of the card in Russian. Here it is:

This church was erected on the territory of the Tula Kremlin in 1764 on the site of a more ancient one, which stood for about a hundred years. The carved gilded iconostasis as well as the locked walls and vaults of the fresco are its sights. The bell tower with a clock and 22 bells was built in 1776, dismantled after a fire in 1936 and fully restored in 2014.

I don't write / speak Russian but with the help of google translator and an online Russian keyboard I tried! Call me crazy 😅
