Nieuwpoort

January 15, 2021

Nieuwpoort East Mole, built in 1865, stands 543 m in the sea. On the heads both the West and East Mole carry a signal lantern and a foghorn. They resemble miniature lighthouses. During the two World Wars the moles were heavily damaged, each time they were built up again. In Nieuwpoort, the Yser flows into the North Sea and it has one of the largest marinas in Europe.

Thanks to my mom!
