Newfound Gap

Newfound Gap is the lowest drivable pass through the Great Smoky Mountains. It stands at an elevation of 5,048 feet. Newfound Gap caputures the essence of the Smokies, as like the park, it lies half in Tennessee and half in North Carolina.

Newfound Gap is known as one of the most popular scenic drives in the Smoky Mountains. You can experience a variety of forests, like cove hardwood, pine-oak and northern hardwood forests to get to the evergreen spruce-fir forest at Newfound Gap.
