Husum is a maritime town in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Colorful houses line the harbor, where the National Park House has exhibits on the tidal flats and salt marshes of Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. In spring, crocuses fill the grounds of Husum Castle. The town was the birthplace of the novelist Theodor Storm, who coined the epithet 'the grey town by the sea'.
