La Ville de Québec

If going down the aptly - named Breakneck Stairs seems scary climbing the stairs back to Upper Town is even more daunting and in the winter, they are often more treacherous.

The Breakneck Stairs, is Quebec City's oldest stairway, built in 1635. They were given their current name in the mid-19th century, because of their steepness. The 59 steps of the Breakneck Stairs connecting côte de la Montagne to rue du Petit-Champlain are just one of the ways to move between Upper and Lower Town.
