Wollyubong Peak

Wollyubong Peak (407m) is a renowned scenic destination in Yeongdong-gun, South Korea, famously known as the "peak where the moon stops". It is one of the Eight Sights of Hancheon and is celebrated for its dramatic cliffs that rise above the winding Seokcheon Stream. The peak offers accessible hiking trails, such as the 8.4 km Wollyubong Trail, and is particularly celebrated for its vibrant spring azalea blooms and autumn foliage, drawing visitors year-round for its serene landscapes and cultural significance.

Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond

Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond in Gyeongju are secondary palace sites of Silla. The palace, along with other secondary palaces, was used as the eastern palace where the prince lived, and banquets were held during auspicious events or to welcome important guests. The site is part of the Gyeongju Historic Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The pond was formerly known as Anapji and is situated at the northeast edge of the Wolseong Palace. The pond is an oval shape and contains three small islands.

Yangdong Village

Yangdong Village is the largest Korean traditional village. It shows the traditional culture of Joseon Dynasty and its beautiful surroundings. This village is a home for two clans: The Wolseong Son and the Yeogang Yi. The village consists of more than 150 traditional buildings including the shrines, pavillions, houses and seawon.

Aeryeonjeong Pavilion

Aeryeonjeong Pavilion is a simple building located north of Aeryeongji Pond in the secret garden of Changdeokgung Palace.

Aeryeonjeong is a square pavilion standing over the pond. Of the four columns, two stand on a stone foundation onthe edge of the pond, with the other two submerged in the water,making half of the pavilion protrude into the pond. The word “aeryeon” means 'love for lotus flower' in Korean. Pieces of wood engraved with flower patterns are attached to the edges of the columns.

Cheomseongdae Observatory

Cheomseongdae observatory was constructed during the empire of Queen Seondeok (r. 632-647). It's one of the oldest astronomical observatory in the world. The observatory consist of 365 stones, symbolizing the number of days in a year. The rocks are piled in 27 layers symbolizing the 27th ruler, Queen Seondeok, and the days in a lunar month by adding the two rock layers on top.

Gwanghwamun Square

Gwanghwamun Square is a public area located in the heart of central Seoul that features museums, statues, restaurants, and beautiful surrounding views.The pedestrian only area was designed to work in harmony with the surrounding scenery such as the Bukaksan Mountain. This broad, elongated square provides a grand approach to Gyeongbokgung and is used for various events. Giant statues celebrate two national heroes: Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who stands atop a plinth at the square's southern end and King Sejong, who sits regally on a throne in the middle of the square. An entrance at the base of the King Sejong statue leads down to an underground exhibition with sections on both the men.

Jeju Island

The volcanic island of Jeju sits like a gem in the South Sea of Korea and is the southernmost area of South Korea. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest island in Korea and an important academic, cultural, tourist, and ecological region. Jeju Island is home to the best diving in South Korea and home to the famous Haenyeo, female divers of Jeju Island known for harvesting from the ocean since approximately 434 AD. Jeju Island diving boasts a myriad of colorful soft corals covering the rocky substrate, found in all shades of pink, yellow, green, and blue. There is also a wide variety of marine life to encounter, including many vibrant nudibranch species.

Buyongjeong Pavilion

Buyongjeong is a small pavilion at the edge of Buyongji pond in Changdeokgung. It is located in the heart of the secret garden, a 78-acre area at the rear of Changdeokgung. The secret Garden consists of lotus ponds, pavilions, landscaped gardens, flower beds and water features. Buyongji is a rectangular pond, the name literally means 'Lotus pond'. Buyongjeong pavilion was used by the royal family for private retreats.
