Parliament House

Parliament House is the seat of Australia's federal government, located on Capital Hill in Canberra. Opened in 1988, the building is an architectural landmark known for its unique design that is partially built into the hill, allowing visitors to walk across its grassy roof. One of the largest buildings in the Southern Hemisphere, it contains roughly 4,500 rooms and houses the Senate, House of Representatives, and offices for the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Gibraltar Falls

The Gibraltar Falls are a cascade waterfall on the Gibraltar Creek, in the Australian Capital Territory, approximately 50 kilometres from Canberra's city centre. The falls are located in Namadgi National Park and have a 50-metre drop. Created in 1984, the park is on the Australian National Heritage List. It suffered badly in the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season, with around 80% of its vegetation burnt. Namadgi is a local Aboriginal name for the mountains situated to the south-west of Canberra. Aboriginal presence in the area has been dated to at least 21,000 years

Lake Burley Griffin

Lake Burley Griffin is an artificial lake in the centre of Canberra, the capital of Australia. It was completed in 1963 after the Molonglo River, which ran between the city centre and Parliamentary Triangle, was dammed. The lake is Canberra's centrepiece and a significant number of national institutions, parks and national public places are located on or near its shores.

Big Swoop

Big Swoop is a sculpture located in Garema Place, Civic, Australian Capital Territory. It depicts an Australian magpie pecking at a chip. The sculpture was installed in Garema Place in 2022. Big Swoop weighs half a tonne, is 2.4 metres high and 3.5 metres long, and was created by Canberra resident and artist Yanni Pounartzis.

Floriade spring festival

Floriade is Australia's biggest flower festival. Held in the city of Canberra, this floral display is also the largest flower festival in the whole southern hemisphere, making it well worth the visit.Floriade Festival is a marvelous fiesta that is dedicated to color blooming. The festival is held every year on spring. In addition to the beautiful sights of the flowering bulbs, there are many different cultural events, attracting thousands of local visitors and tourists, to the event, that also known as Australia’s Celebration of Spring.

Royal Australian Mint

An old postcard of the Royal Australian Mint, situated in the Australian federal capital city of Canberra. The Mint was opened in 1965 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. It is the sole producer of all of Australia's circulating coins and is a Commonwealth Government entity operating within the portfolio of the Treasury.

Brindabella Range

The Brindabella Range, commonly called The Brindabellas or The Brindies, is a mountain range located in Australia, on a state and territory border of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The range rises to the west of Canberra, the capital city of Australia, and includes the Namadgi National Park in the ACT and the Bimberi Nature Reserve and Brindabella National Park in New South Wales.

Namadgi National Park is a protected area in the south-west of the Australian Capital Territory. The park lies approximately 40 kilometres southwest of Canberra, and makes up approximately 46 percent of the ACT's land area. Created in 1984, the park is on the Australian National Heritage List. The national park protects part of the northern end of the Australian Alps. Its habitat ranges from grassy plains over snow gum forests to alpine meadows and wetlands.

Old Parliament House

The Old Parliament House in Canberra is home to the Museum of Australian Democracy, a museum that tells the story of Australia's democracy, including the history and heritage of the building. It stands as the symbol of the nation's political heritage, where traditions of Australian democracy were formalised by the country's political founders. It was the home of the Federal Parliament from 1927 to 1988.

Canberra

My first card from Camberra (from the Aboriginal word meaning 'meeting place'), Australia's capital. Parliament House's intricate forecourt mosaic was designed by indigenous artist Michael Jagamara Nelson. Parliament building is situated on the southern apex of the Parliamentary Triangle atop Capital Hill.

Telstra Tower is a telecommunications tower and lookout that is situated above the summit of Black Mountain in Australia's capital city of Canberra. It is named after Australia's largest telecommunications company, Telstra Corporation, which owns and operates the tower.
